Tony Moly multi use sun oil reviewThose of you who have dry skin like me, you’ll understand the struggles of hydrating. ย Facial oils and moisturizers are our best friends. ย When I saw this new product from Tony Moly back when it was released, I freaked out. ย I always forget to put sunscreen on, so a built in sunscreen in a facial oil!! ย Not only is this just a face oil, you can also mix it in your foundation, mix it in your other skincare products and even use it in your hair! ย Well kind of obvious since the name is “multi” use hehe. ย Anyways, let’s get into the review!

Tony moly sun oil review

Tony Moly sunscreen oilProduct packaging:
Packaging for this product is sleek but functional. ย The oil comes in a glass bottle with a glass dropper so it is easy to control how much you use. ย I personally only use about three to four drops every time I use it. ย The bottle luckily is nice and tight, so I haven’t had a problem with leakage. ย The information in the front is all in English, but the information in the back is all in Korean.

Tony moly multi use sun oil reviewTexture/ Finish:
For the picture, I think I should have rubbed it into my skin. ย When you massage it into your skin, it takes about 30 minutes for my dry skin to fully get absorbed into my skin. ย Luckily, the oil isn’t as “thick” as the body shop vitamin E serum in oil which I love. Not sure if this make sense, but if you are slightly experienced with using facial oils, you’ll kind of tell the thickness of the oil and the amount of hydration it gives your skin. ย Example, argan oil does nothing for my skin for some reason. ย I personally don’t mind the slightly dewy/ oily finish on my skin but I think some people might not like it.

pH level:
This product has a pH level of 5.

Fragrance?:
There is a slight floral scent to it, but the scent disappears after application. ย Luckily for us, this doesn’t smell like sunscreen scent which makes me want to gag adn not want to use sunscreen. ย Smell-o-scale: 6/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Pro:
-easy to use
-actually hydrating
-sunscreen built it!
-affordable ๐Ÿ˜€

Con:
Nothing really…

Repurchase?:
Most likely yes.

Overall thoughts:
I’m sorry if this is the most boring and flat review of life. ย There honestly isn’t much to talk about when it comes to skincare. ย For me, I always just look for hydrating and many color evening, but that is about it. ย For this sun oil, I absolutely love the concept and the formula was executed well. ย It isn’t too thick, so if you were to mix it into a foundation, it wouldn’t alter the finish too much. ย Used by itself, it does leave a slightly oily finish on the skin but for me, it soaks in relatively quickly. ย Overall I’m really impressed with this product and I give you guys the thumbs up to buy this product for yourself if it is something that interests you.

I’ve been curious about this so thank you for reviewing it! Does it really take 30 minutes to dry down though? Yikes…

I didn’t mean like it is oily for the whole day, what I mean is for my skin to go back to being normal but with a slight oily/ moisturized effect. I hope that makes sense haha

Hi Christina! Just to clarify, as this is an ‘added’ sun protection, we would still have to wear normal sunscreen before, right? I’ve seen some people are turned off by this product maybe because they imagined it has to be worn by itself and putting a 1/4 teaspoon of oil doesn’t appeal to many lol, or they find it sort of redundant? For me, I like the fact that it’s not just a moisturising facial oil, it has SPF!

Yes, you’d have to use sunscreen again later through the day, not using just the oil. I mean you can reapply the oil but I personally wouldn’t do that since, like you said, it would be hell of a lot of oil especially during the summer time when we are nice and sweaty.
