The body shop skincare reviewProduct packaging:
Packaging of this product is simple and straight forward with their pastel pink glass bottle and a glass dropper lid that always make me feel like a scientist when I use this. ย You can easily drip just the right amount of product every time with no fuss. ย Only complaint would be that there is no stopper in the actual bottle. ย So if you were to accidentally tip over the bottle, it would be game over.

How to use:
ย Please keep in mind facial oils are not a replacement for a moisturizer. ย Think of facial oils as a seal for your moisturizer like plastic wrap to keep all the moisture in. After you have cleansed your face, used toner to wipe away left over dirty and prepping your skin to drink some moisture, applied essence/serum/ampoule, moisturized with your favourite moisturized, pat this serum-in-oil onto your face. ย Drip about 3-4 drops onto the palms of your hand, rub your hands together and pat onto your face.

Texture/ Finish:
Texture of this serum in oil is, well oily. ย After 20 minutes, the oil settles into your skin and doesn’t appear so greasy. ย I would definitely suggest you to use this at night if you don’t want to look too greasy. ย If you were to use this in the day time, use only one to two drops, rub it on the palm of your hands and gently press into the skin. ย At night, I use three to four drops. ย Once I wake up, I definitely feel a huge difference with this facial oil. ย My skin is more hydrated, slightly more plump and softer.

Fragrance:
This facial oil has a slight powdery scent, kind of smells like a grandma’s perfume but is so faint that it doesn’t really bother me. ย Scent does not linger afterย application.ย ย Smell-o-scale= 3/10.

Overal:
I have to say that Body shop does not really have many good products in my opinion other then their body butters, so I’m really surprised I actually fell in love with one of their skin care products. ย Two years ago, I don’t know what came over me, I had a huge craving to try all of the Body shop products and still to this day have a stash that I have not touched. ย If you actually look at the bottom of yourย receipt, there is a coupon for $15 off $45 which definitely helps knock down the price. ย That and their membership card that gives you an extra 10% off, yea I can’t really pass on deals. ย I don’t think I can live without this product and is close to a holy grail, close but I won’t stamp this as holy grail until I try more facial oils. ย Two thumbs up and would definitely recommend you guys try it :).

PS. One bottle lasted me almost a year, so you really don’t need that much for it to last. ย And for $23, it is pretty affordable compared to anything you can get in Sephora.

Have you tried this product? ย What do you think about this product? ย Any other facial oils that you guys enjoy and would recommend to me? ย Let me know in the comments down below~ WEEEEEEEE

This looks exciting. I’ve always liked their Vitamin E line. Maybe I’ll go window shopping tomorrow and accidentally (ahem) come home with it.

Thank you for the review! i bought it after reading your review and I love it!!!
What body butter would you recommend from the Body shop? =) I had a lot of their products that I ended up not using them because of their overwhelming scent. It made me nauseous. The only product I like is peppermint foot cream. Now I have another fav product)), I never been a fan of their products so was a bit hesitant to buy this serum in oil but didn’t regret!! Thank you!!

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I don’t like much from the body shop other then their serum in oil and select body butters. I bought almost all their scents and used to like how they smell. But I don’t know what came over me and I can’t stand it being so strong now. I’d suggest you try their Vitamin E or their shea butter body butters if you don’t want anything overwhelming. I like their shower gels but they are honestly whatever. I just like that they come in a jumbo size that lasts me 3 months hehe. Make up wise, I like their liquid highlighter but that is pretty much it.

Hopefully your skin will thank you for the hydration. <3
