Long time no talk everyone who’s still kicking around.  Summer is officially here in just a couple of days, so what is more fitting than more sunscreen reviews!  Although when you think of sunscreen only during the time summer comes around, it is something we should be using all year round.  What is the point in investing all your time in skincare and not doing the most important step?  Let’s get into the review.

How to use:
Apply an appropriate amount at the last step of skincare and spread it evenly all over your face to absorb it.  For effective UV protection, re-apply as needed.

Product packaging:
The packaging is exactly the same as their original Thank you farmer sun project water sun cream. It comes in this convenient plastic tube with a twist-off lid.  It is compact and easy to carry.

The dispensing nozzle is also what you would expect.  Simple, to the point, and easy to travel with.

Texture/ Finish:
As expected, the texture of this sunscreen is a lightweight gel that is easily absorbed into the skin.  To be honest, I’m not too sure how this version and the original Thank you farmer sun project water sun cream differs other than the added benefits of soothing and calming ingredients added into the formula.  There is Centella asiatica extract, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) flower extract, and Coptis Japonica root extract to help calm the skin down over time.

The sunscreen absorbs into the skin with no white cast, leaving a light dewy hydrating feeling.  This is a very comfortable sunscreen to wear, solidifying my thoughts on all of Thank you farmers as one of my go-to brands when it comes to skincare and sunscreen needs.

This time around, I made sure to do a flash test too!  As you can see, there is absolutely no white cast, so this sunscreen is safe to use if you are expecting to be at a party where flash photography will be used.  Reapplication was a breeze and it didn’t feel heavy even after reapplying 3 times throughout the day.  It didn’t dry me out, however, I did want to wash my face at the end of a 10-hour day.

Since I’ve been mentioning how similar the two sunscreens are, we’re going to have to compare them side by side.  Firstly the packaging is virtually the same, other than the color difference.

Texture-wise, they both have the same lightweight texture, no white cast and are easily absorbed into the skin.

Fragrance?:
There is a slight scent of Centella, however, it is virtually fragrance-free.  Smell-o-scale: 4/10 in terms of how strong the scent is and it does fade after application.

Overall thoughts:
Although my first impression of this sunscreen was that it isn’t any different than the original Thank you farmer sun project water sun cream, I think my mind changed after analyzing the ingredients list.  The original had one sun filter, while the newer TYF sun project skin sunscreen has four total filters, resulting in higher PA++++ protection.  It has the same lightweight, no white cast, and hydrating finish, making it onto my holy grail/ will definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone list!  I think this sunscreen can be used with all skin types since it isn’t greasy and lightweight!  For those who loved the original and want another TYF banger, check this one out!  This has to be one of the best Korean sunscreens out there.
