Primera has been a brand I’ve been trying to familiarize since there isn’t a lot of reviews out there.  I got a lip balm from them a while ago from a value box I got from buying from Glossydays (a site where they create boxes and sell for a really heavy discount) and absolutely fell in love with the texture and the hydration it gave my lips. When I saw they had a lip mask, I knew I had to somehow get my hands on it.  I actually got this one through Jolse which I had to catch when it finally came back in stock four months later.  So let’s get started with the review!

Who are Primera?
“Prime + Era= Primera”

How to use:
Apply a thick layer over dry lips.

Packaging:
Packaging for this product is simple and minimal.  It comes in a frosted plastic jar with a screw on cap.  There is actually a good amount of English on the jar along with Korean on the other side.

This doesn’t come with a spatula and yes, you do have to use your fingers to apply.  I’m contemplating on if I want to melt this and shape it into the other lip balm that is in a stick form so it is more convenient for application and also more sanitary.

Texture/ Finish:
Since I have experiences with the lip balm, I had high expectations for this lip mask not being too thin where it isn’t moisturizing enough.  But I was also kind of expecting this to be thick like my beloved Aritaum ginger sugar overnight lip mask but to my surprise, it isn’t as sticky or thick.  It has a good balance of being not thin like the Nooni water blending lip mask, it is right in the middle where it adheres to the lips for a long period of time while hydrating my lips for a long time.  I’m not sure if you are suppose to use it overnight since it is technically a lip mask, but I just use it as a lip balm since.  It also doesn’t make my hair stick to my lips which I appreciate.

Let’s try this on shall we?

Here are my dry lips, nice and crusty for you.  Look at that dead skin hanging on the top left.  That’s from swatching lip colors hehe.

Here is my lips with the lip balm.  Slightly glossy, nice adherence for at least 3 hours and a lasting hydrating effect.

Lasting power:
Like I have said before, this lip balm lasts 3 hours on my lips before it fully absorbs into my lips.  It hydrated my lips still even after the balm has worn off, which is a sign of a good lip balm.

Fragrance?:
There is a slight lemony sugar scent but it isn’t super strong and the scent fades after application.  Smell-o-scale: 6/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Pro:
-super hydrating
-nice balance in texture
-affordable price point

Con:
In a jar container which can attract bacteria.

Repurchase?:
Yes!

Stars given out of 5:
🌟🌟🌟🌟

Overall thoughts:
If I’m ever run out of this lip mask, I’m definitely going to repurchase since it is a really good product.  It is hydrating without being too thick, has a nice natural scent to it and is at a good affordable price point.  Not much to say about this lip mask other then it is a solid buy and I’m definitely recommend it for those who has dry lips and would like a lip balm that will actually do its job.
