Pony effect lip tint reviewSeems like Pony has an everlasting line of lip products.  To continue on her lip legacy, she also has these “deep & pure lip tints” which came out a while ago.  I finally got my hands on these and I wanted to see why she needed to add another tint to her brand. If you want to check out my other reviews on her lip products, click here! I absolutely fell in love with her fluid lip tints which is perfect for me since I usually like a more natural, more watercolour type of lip look rather then a bold lip.  Another lip product I absolutely love from her are the stay fit matte lipsticks which gives me a bold matte lip look without being super drying.  Needless to say, I like her lip products and am excited to test these babies out.  So let’s go~

Beautiful: (I can’t seem to get the ingredients list off of the website at the moment)

How to use:
Use the doe foot applicator to smooth tint over lips, as you would with lip gloss.

Pony effect deep and pure lip tint reviewProduct packaging:
Packaging for these lip tints are one of the most unique ones I have seen.  When I first saw a promo picture of these lip tints on Instagram, I thought it would be a squeeze out type where you would have to dab it onto the lips with your fingers.  To my surprise, they actually have a built in doe foot applicator which you pull out and use to apply.

Pony effect deep and pure lip tint reviewThe tube itself is the same height as my iPhone 6s screen, 10.7 cm to be exact.  The lid has the same rose gold detailing as with the rest of the Pony effect line.  In the front, there is the signature lightening bolt logo with the shade colour to indicate which shade you are grabbing.  I kind of wish they also added the color indicator on the top of the lid so if you guys were to store it lid side up, you’d be able to tell easily which shades you are grabbing.

Pony effect deep and pure lip tint reviewOne thing that does kind of annoys me is that they didn’t bother to print the English name on the back.  The little square is actually the sticker that comes with the box in which I had to rip off, carefully cut the name and then stick it on the back.  Unfortunately since the stickiness has worn off, it does peel off very easily.

Pony effect deep and pure lip tint reviewUnfortunately, I think the stopper inside isn’t tight enough since the product does seem to seep out a little bit causing a huge mess.  When I first got mine in the mail, two of the ten shades spilled out a bit.  I’m not too sure if that had to do with customs opening up my package to make sure it’s not drugs being smuggled or something but it was quite messy.  I tried wiping it down a bit but since there were some still stuck in the lid, it was hard to get it spotlessly clean. I do like the fact that it does come in a tube since you are able to squeeze out the product from every inch.  I just wish it wasn’t so messy.  If you do tilt the opening, product will spill out so you have to be careful.

Color/ Pigmentation:
After testing these out, I understand why Pony decided to have these lip tints added into the brand.  Unlike the favourite fluid lip tints which gives the lips a juicy watercolour touch to the lips or even the stay fit matte lip colours which are in a world of their own, there wasn’t an in-between. To unify the whole line, there had to be an in-between.  Unlike most liquidy lip tints in the K-beauty market, these don’t seem to bleed out of my lip lines, are a whole lot more pigmented to the point of it being able to be a liquid lipstick, they still do a great job at staining the lips.

With 10 shades to choose from, there is definitely something to choose from and something for everyone.  There are a mixture of reds, oranges, pinks, up to roses and berry shades.  With one swipe, you can get a full intensity already and it stains your lips almost instantaneously.

IMG_6364Okay let’s do the swatches while we are at it.  Here are my bare lips without any product.  I should have put a little lip balm before hand 😛 but it’s too late now LOL.  For some reason my upper lip has this weird thing that it does where it kind of looks scaly?  It’s not hard per se, it’s just sometimes lip tints tend to gather around there even though I have moisturized and exfoliated my lips well.

Pony effect deep and pure lip tint reviewDelightful: Muted cherry shade with a hint of orange undertone

If your looking for a shade that isn’t full on red, this shade is for you!  I think out of the ten shades, this is the most similar to the favourite fluid lip tints in a sense that it ind of gives a watercolour effect but this one of course is a whole lot more pigmented.

Pony effect deep and pure lip tint reviewWishful: Bright strawberry fuchsia shade

If I really had to wear a pink look, this one could pass.  This shade is similar to “beautiful” but this shade has a more blue undertone.

Pony effect deep and pure lip tint reviewBeautiful:Cross between a strawberry and a raspberry shade (straw-rasp-berry?)

I honestly don’t know how to accurately describe this colour.  It is a cross between a strawberry and a raspberry.  This colour screams youthfulness or spring time but unfortunately for me, this is the type of pink that I don’t like to rock.  Am I a black sheep haha.

Pony effect deep and pure lip tint reviewBlissful:Dark red rose petal shade

If your not into the berry shades but want something very close to it, this shade is for you. This shade kind of reminds me of a red rose that is wilting and the petals are drying up, causing the colour to darken a bit.

Pony effect deep and pure lip tint reviewEventfulSwedish berry candy shade

I usually don’t go for pink shades since it usually doesn’t work that well around my taste in lip colours, but this shade has the perfect middle ground.  Pink enough for you to call it pink, but not so pink where I want to projectile vomit since it is way too girly and wham bam in your face pink.  This shade leans more towards a berry shade which I prefer.

Pony effect deep and pure lip tint reviewColourful: Warm tone fire truck red with a tiny hint of orange

If you don’t like the blue undertoned red shades, this one might be for you.  This shade is on the more warm side with a hint of orange.  Unfortunately for me, this makes my teeth look slightly yellow hence why I usually prefer reds with blue undertones.

Pony effect deep and pure lip tint reviewGraceful: Cool tone red shade with more blue undertones

At this point, all reddish looking lip shades look the same to me HAHA.  Maybe because I’m falling asleep or my eyes are just going in circles scrolling down so quickly.  I sometimes have a hard time finding red shades since some don’t compliment my natural skin color very well.  This cool tone red with a blue undertone works perfectly with my skintone and also doesn’t make my teeth look yellow which I always look for in a good red lip colour.

This shade is absolutely great for the fall/ wintertime even anyone with very deep skin tone, this would look absolutely gorgeous on you!

Pony effect deep and pure lip tint reviewYouthful: Light creamy looking orange shade

I actually really like this shade even though it doesn’t apply the most even on my lips.  I absolutely love the stained effect it gives my lips, looks like my natural lips but somehow kind of juicier and with a touch of orange popsicle kind of look.  The colour is subtle but it evens out the colour of my lips and makes my lip lines more prominent then without.

Pony effect deep and pure lip tint reviewWonderful: Warm tone bright orange shade

If “youthful” is too natural looking for you and you want a brighter more vibrant colour, maybe wonderful is a good pick for you.  This shade is quite generic in the K-beauty world.  It seems like every collection that comes out with a lip tint, there is always this type of orange and a red shade.  Not hating on this shade since it is a nice shade, but nothing really special.

Texture/ Finish:
Using these lip tints over my bare lips, I had absolutely no problem with it clinging onto any weird patches.  Granted I did wipe my lips a little bit before swatching but I didn’t do anything excessive like brush my lips with my toothbrush or use a lip scrub of any sort.  This lip tint from Pony seems to be quite moisturizing and it is comfortable to wear for a long period of time.  Even after the gloss wears off, my lips don’t feel cracked like when I use other lip tints.  I do like to top it off with a lip balm after the gloss wears off but that isn’t a necessity for me.  I also really love the finish it give to my lips.  It doesn’t have the same type of high gloss that the favourite fluid lip tints have but just a subtle gloss which makes your lips look juicy but not slobbery.

Lasting power:
The stain afterwards is very long lasting so you have to make sure you don’t mess it up or else you’ll be stuck with Harley Quinn make up for two days.  On the lips, the stain, for me at least, lasts 1.5 days until it completely wears off.  On my arm after I swatched the colours for you guys, it lasted for three days.  Even scrubbing with soap and cleansing oil didn’t help either.  So again, MAKE SURE YOU DON’T MESS UP OR YOUR SCREWED.

Fragrance?:
The scent in these kind of remind me of cherry medicine.  Although it isn’t overpowering, I can see some people not liking the smell. The fragrance does fade after application.  Smell-o-scale: 6/10 in terms of the strength of the scent.

Pro:
-super pigmented
-staining power is crazy
-lasting power is top notch
-formula glides on the lips effortlessly

Con:
-if you mess up, it’s game over LOL

Repurchase?:
Maybe!  If I ever finish any of these shades :P.

Overall thoughts:
I think these lip tints are awesome!  I do wish for them to maybe make the stopper inside a little tighter so product doesn’t ooze out everywhere.  Imagine one leaking in your purse!  Oh no!!  That would be a disaster!!!!!  I’d definitely put these in a plastic make up bag or even a zip lock bag just in case, this is my paranoid self talking.  Other then the minor packaging complaint, everything else is awesome.  The colors are super pigmented, long lasting and the formula isn’t drying even on my dry lips and skin! I’m super pleased with this product and if any shades have caught your eye, definitely pick one up and try it out for yourself!

Out of the 10 shades, which one is your favourite, which one is your least favourite, and why?  If you have tried this yourself and would like to share your opinions on these, do feel free to comment down below!
