Physicians formula eye booster 2-in-1 lash boosting eyeliner + serum review & demo

Physicians formula eye booster reviewLiquid eyeliner is one of those essential things you need in your make up collection. ย I have tried many liquid eyeliner pens but nothing has left a lasting impression on me until I stumbled upon this one. ย I think it was fate that brought us together on that faithful day, randomly just strolling in the beauty section of my drugstore. ย The boring packaging somehow caught my eye and I told myself, “Hey, its an eyeliner pen that says it has a brush tip. ย Maybe give it a try and see if it is any good.” ย Results? ย Well you are going to have to keep readingย โ•ฐ( ๏ฝฅ แ—œ ๏ฝฅ )โ•ฏ.

Product packaging:Physicials formula reviewThe packaging of this product is simple and straight forward. ย The pen itself seems to be some type of metal, while the inside is plastic with a real bristle brush tip applicator. ย I absolutely love the brush applicator because it gives me precious application and would not dry out like a felt tip would and go to waste. I’ve tried felt tips before but don’t like it as much since they easily dry out before I can even finish the ink, or the tip gets dull and become useless. ย I store these pens upside down since I want to ink to flow down towards the tip so when i go to use it, it is not all dried up.ย

Best liquid eyelinerColor/ pigmentation:
You can easily tell the quality of the liner by the theย degree of pigmentation of the ink. ย I’ve tried some where the ink does not even show up, and when you go over it, you pretty much erase the nonexistent line. ย Super frustrating much! ย This one does not. ย One swipe and it gets the job done. ย The black is super black and the deep brown is great for ever day since it is more natural and muted then black.
Physicians formula eye booster swatchesTexture/ finish:
Once applied to the skin, this liner quickly sets so you do have to be careful. ย I think with a little bit of practice ย  The liner sets quite matte and does not flakey or crack away which I LOVE!

Smell:
This liner doesn’t have any weird smells, it just smells like ink. ย Don’t know how to describe what ink smells like, so your going to have to use your imagination. ย Smell-o-scale=5/10

Lasting power:
I’ve been using this liner for a good two months and have wore it throughout the whole day with no problem. ย I come home with my eyeliner still intact and looked exactly what it was when i first applied it. ย I’d say it lasted a good 10 hours no problem. ย Not sure about their 24 hour claim but I don’t plan to sleep with my make up so that would not be a problem for me.

You can also see the lasting power with my ultra skin rubbing test down below. ย Once the liner is dried, it does not budge at all! And the pulling of the skin in the picture will not fail to make me cringe. ย OH THE HORROR!

IMG_8337Demo time! I have lined my upper waterline with Etude House play 101 pencil in the deep brown color to make my lashes look thicker then it really is. ย I don’t know, I never go lining my eyes without lining my waterline. ย I think it looks weird to just do a wing but then you can see the pink peeking out when you go and curl your lashes. ย Is that just me?

IMG_8338Now to show you the powder of the awesome tip. ย Are you ready?ย (๏ฟฃฯ‰๏ฟฃ)

IMG_8340The easiest way to line your eyes without any fuss is to do it in sections. ย I like to line from the center to the end, and then go back and do the inner back to the center. Also I don’t do it in one motion, I spilt it in half so I don’t mess up. ย Another tip is to lay the tip on your lashes, that way you also get a slight guide instead of doing it freestyle. ย I hope that makes sense.

IMG_8341And done! ย Now to do the tip…

IMG_8345TV magic! ย Also done :D. ย The worst part is to draw the other eye exactly the same, which never ends up happening sadly HAHA. ย Poo…

IMG_8347Here is the finished look. ย This is my everyday natural wing look with a little bit of eyeshadow and mascara. ย I would wear false lashes but I still can not apply it nicely sadly :(. ย Still have to practice. ย The struggles of a female.

IMG_8349Pros:
-lasts all day on my eyes
-highly pigmented
-easy to use
-brush tip applicator for precision
-easily available in the drugstore

Cons:
-slightly more expensive for a drugstore price (I got mine for $13 CAD)

Repurchase:
YES!

Overall:
I have tried another eye liner pen that is also the same thing as this one but they only sell it in the states. ย I’m talking about Jessie’s girl one which I got in an ipsy bag when I was still subscribed. ย I was sad when that one ran out but now I will never be sad since this one trumps that one and is easily available in my drugstore. ย I can’t say much about the lash growth part since I didn’t really notice a difference for me. ย Overall I would recommend this easily to anyone that is looking for an easy to use eyeliner pen and have already to one of my friend and she absolutely adores it. ย I urge you guys to check it out the next time you are in the drugstore.

Have you guys tried this product and what do you think about it? ย Are there any other liquid eyeliner pens out there that you love? ย Tell me in the comments down below! ย I love to hear your opinionsย down below

You got me ~ I really wanna try that liner now but I’m not sure I’ll find it here in Korea ๐Ÿ™

Oh no! Hopefully there is something similar in Korea! I’m sure there is.

How interesting that you like it better than the Jesse’s Girl! I used several different brands (Heroine Make, Milani, Stila, Marc Jacobs, Jordana, Kat Von D) before switching to Jesse’s Girl, and I love it.

I’ll have to give this one a try when I see Physician’s Formula on sale sometime ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S. Sometimes the pens tell you to store them horizontally for the best longevity. I’ve found that sometimes if you leave these brush pens upside down, you can get a mess of ink at the tip. So, I always store mine horizontally and I never have an issue with them drying up.

I liked the Jessie’s girl one for a while but after a while, it was getting a little bit dry and would skip on me. I’ve tried Kat Von D but didn’t really like it, Stila’s which is not bad and I do like it but I still like brush tips better then sponge ones. And thank you for the tip :). I’ll keep an eye on my pens and see which way is best to store it.

Hey! Just wanted to let you know that I just picked this up today because Rite Aid had Physician’s Formula on sale buy one get one free, and I remembered reading your review. I tried it when I got home and so far love it! I’ve still been using Jesse’s Girl, but the tip keeps fraying on me after a few months.

So far so good for Physician’s Formula! I bought Ultra Black, but I’m going to go back and pick up brown for my lower lash line as well. Thanks for much for introducing me to this awesome liner ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m glad you liked it too in the end :). I’ll always be here to recommend you guys awesome products. Think of me as your shopping buddy

    Hi,
Thank you for the review!! Always excited to read your reviews! Please continue!
I have to say I like your eyebrows! Very beautiful shape and they are so full! I have many empty spots on mine, so sad… do you put anything on helping them to grow and look fuller?
And also wanted to ask what eyeshadow did you use in this demo?
Please review your holy grail skincare and /or make up products if you have ones!
    Thank you!

      Hello Julia,
I’m glad you found this post helpful and thank you for the kind words.

Funny story about my eyebrows actually. I inherited them from my dad, along with the big (ish) lips and the long face. Pretty much you can imagine my face, but a male version. Anyways, only until recently (7 months ago), I got my eyebrows shaped and waxed out of the blue one day when I was shopping in Sephora and their brow bar opened. My brows never looked so clean and polished. For 21 years of my life, I was a hairy beast and my brows were the first thing people would see. I had a girl that was trying to date my boyfriend (this was when I first met him) say to him why would he want to go out with a girl with man eye brows HAHA. Even my mom after I waxed my eyebrows (keep in mind, they are already nicely shaped in my opinion) to tell me to wax it more and make it thinner. Gross. I’m standing my ground haha. I don’t do anything to make it fuller, they were just bushy to begin with :P. I do slightly fill them in with Skinfood brow powder when I do do my make up.

I used a mixture of eyeshadows. I can’t remember off the top of my head anymore, but I do remember the glitter I used was from the korean brand “BBia”.

And I will do a skincare routine soon :), I do have a “skincare products on trial” post that went up last week.
      -Cheers, Christina
