IMG_0582I’m always on a look out for the next best moisturizer. When I was sent this one, of course I was excited to test it out.  It takes little to no time for me to find out if it is a suitable moisturizer for my liking, and this one is a very promise one indeed.  Nooni is the latest addition to Memebox’s house brands and their philosophy for this brand is to create skincare products with snow in mind.  The word “누” is actually Korean (Hangul) for snow, hence the brand name “누니” (“someone who is as pure as snow”) .The Nooni line are made from carbonated water from Chojungri in the Chungji province of South Korea which is rich in minerals and also know as “the magical water of Asia”.  Sounds promising right?  Let’s get into the review and I’ll tell you my honest opinion about this product.  Let’s go~~~ (。>ω<)。

IMG_0579Product packaging:
This moisturizer comes in a sleek clear jar with a white translucent white lid.  The whole look of the packaging makes the product look quite clinical and makes me think this was prescribed specifically for me for my dang dry skin.

IMG_0583

IMG_0584In the back of the jar is a nice little touch for the definition of “repair”.  Kind of reminds me of reading a dictionary haha.

IMG_0585

IMG_0586Inside, it comes with a lid to keep the cream extra “sealed”.  I’m always on the fence about if I should keep the lid or not.  The idea of having it on to prevent more bacteria from seeping in is awesome but it is definitely a pain in the ass to have the extra step of pop it off every time I need to use it.  Do you guys keep these or throw it away?

IMG_0587

IMG_0588And voila~  There is the moisturizer itself.

How to use:
Step 1: After your nighttime cleansing routine, scoop a small amount of the cream and spread evenly all over the face. Apply another layer to dry areas.

Step 2: Use the palm of your hands and wrap it around your face to allow full absorption.

Texture/ Finish:
When I first opened the jar and found out it is a gel looking cream, I was slightly disappointed. My skin doesn’t like gel type creams and usually doesn’t hydrate my skin enough, leaving it feeling tight still.  I can get by using gel creams during the summertime but definitely not for the rest of the 9 months living here in Canada.

IMG_0590To my surprise, even though this moisturizer looks like a gel, it is more of a very moisturizing balm.  This isn’t a super light weight gel but more of a balm that soaks into the skin with no time at all and leaves my skin feeling super hydrated and feels like there is a barrier to protect me skin.

IMG_0592

IMG_0594This also does not leave my skin feeling greasy at all (which I actually don’t mind since my skin is super dry) nor does it feel sticky.  I haven’t came across any other moisturizers with this finish and definitely in love with it!  I can see this moisturizer working out for both oily and dry skin people.  I can’t speak upon if the hydration level could possibly be too much for your oily skin, but I think it would definitely work for both parties, especially if you have combo skin!

Here are the moisture and oil level measurements using my facial measurement tool.  As you can see, there is a decent up in the moisture department on my cheeks, from 44.8% to 58%.  My forehead moisture went from 17.7% to 32.3%!!!  That is AWESOME!

Lasting power:
I know you are suppose to wash your face twice a day, once in the morning with a mild cleanser and at night with a deep cleansing routine.  But to be honest, I’m too lazy for that and usually just wash my face once at night so I can easily speak upon the lasting power of this moisturizer.  This one from Nooni, with no troubles at all, protected my skin all day and keep my skin hydrated.

Fragrance?:
There is a slight fragrance to this product, which was in the Memebox website description as a “refreshing citrus herbal scent”.  They definitely hit the nail on the description.  Smell-o-scale= 5/10 and not too overpowering which is nice.

Pro:
-affordable ($38)
-awesome formula
-does what it says

Overall thoughts:
I am really happy with this moisturizer and has easily slipped into my favourites list.  Since I live in Canada and 9 out of the 12 months of the year is pretty cold, I’m always on the hunt for a good hydrating moisturizer to protect my skin from cold and being inside with the heater on.  There is only two other moisturizers which I love (L’occitane ultra rich face cream and Cosrx Honey Ceramide cream) and this one from Nooni has become a no brainer for me.  In terms of the claims, I can’t speak upon if I saw a difference with my skin cells regenerating any faster then normal, but I will say that the claims to “relieve dryness and strengthen skin’s protective barrier” is definitely true.  I absolutely love the balmy texture of this moisturizer and a little goes a long way.  I’d say I use about a little less then dime size amount to evenly coat my face and my neck.  Overall I’m very happy and excited to be able to recommend to you this great moisturizer and am giving you the thumbs up to go and get one for yourself!

Have you got your hands on the new Nooni moisturizer?  What are your thoughts on it if you have tried it?  If you haven’t tried it, do you want to try it now that you know my opinions on it?  Let me know in the comments down below!  Let’s chit chat ( ̄▽ ̄)ノ.

Thank you so much for the review and the 20% off <3 I bought the tint and the Nooni Cream. I don't usually buy anything from Memebox because it's expensive for me. Thanks for the coupon. I love your reviews. ^^
