Laneige eye sleeping mask review

Laneige eye sleeping mask reviewAfter being disappointed with the famous Laneige sleeping mask that everyone seems to love, I kind of gave up on trying Laneige skincare products since it seems to be too lightweight for my sad dry skin.ย  I do actually like their water bank emulsion which works wonder as a layering product.ย  Almost half a year ago, they released their eye sleeping mask and I got to say, I was totally intrigued.ย  After being completely blown away and spoiled by Amorepacific rejuvenating eye treatment, I still have yet to find something to top off that cream.ย  With the little hope that I had left, I opened my sad little heart to see if this could even come close to the holy grail.ย  Let’s see if this eye treatment is a gimmick or does it actually work?ย  Let’s go!

Ingredients:
WATER / AQUA / EAU, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, GLYCERIN, DIMETHICONE, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, HESPERIDIN, CAFFEINE, BETA-GLUCAN, SACCHAROMYCES CEREVISIAE EXTRACT, CHENOPODIUM QUINOA SEED EXTRACT, MAGNESIUM SULFATE, CALCIUM CHLORIDE, MANGANESE SULFATE, ZINC SULFATE, ASCORBYL GLUCOSIDE, ADENOSINE, TRIETHYLHEXANOIN, ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, AMMONIUM ACRYLOYLDIMETHYLTAURATE/BEHENETH-25 METHACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE, PROPANEDIOL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE, PEG-14M, DISODIUM EDTA, FRAGRANCE / PARFUM

How to use:
Use at the eye cream step of basic skincare routine at night. Using the ceramic applicator, dot a generous amount along the orbital bone and follow the massage directions. Gently pat in the remaining with your ring fingers and leave on overnight.

For best results, after application, use ring fingers or ceramic massage tool to lightly press inner corners of the eyes and then gently stroke across the eyelids. Lightly press outer corners of the eyes and then gently stroke under the eyes. Press underneath the eyebrows and then gently sweep down to inner corners of the eyes. Press the center under the eyes and then gently sweep outward up to brow bone. Repeat 1-2 times to help soothe and de-puff fatigued eyes.

Laneige eye sleeping mask reviewProduct packaging:
This eye sleeping mask comes in a nice frosted glass bottle, nice to keep on your vanityย but not really to travel with.ย  When you first get the product, the applicator comes separately and for the first couple of weeks, I would clean the applicator every time I used it and kept them both separate. After a while, I just didn’t care anymore and bravely put them together LOL.ย  No more Romeo and Juliet, let them be together!!

Laneige eye reviewThe ceramic applicator feels surprisingly very nice and cooling on the undereyes.ย  Sometimes I would even use the applicator just for its cooling effect.ย  Although this is suppose to be a “sleeping mask”, I do sometimes use this in the morning to help me wake up and feel more energized.

Korean eye cream reviewTexture/ Finish:
To me the texture is just right.ย  It is lightweight but there is layer of moisture leftover. Some of you guys have said it feels sticky but I don’t find it sticky at all.ย  If you do feel like it feels sticky, use it before you go to bed and you’ll wake up to plump, hydrated but NOT sticky eyeballs haha.ย  I wouldn’t recommend layering the sleeping mask with any other creams since I think the mask does a good enough job for you to use this solo.

Laneige eye sleeping mask reviewUhh this is going to be the most useless demo but here it is anyways LOL.

Korean eye treatment reviewThe applicator is just the right size for the undereye.ย  I don’t really use it for my eyelid, I just tap the product into my eyelids.ย  Also for massaging my eye area, I use a jade stick massager for that.

Korean eye treatment reviewAnd viola. The sleeping mask on my skin isn’t greasy but then again, I do have dry skin so it sucks up all the moisture there is haha.ย  My eyes definitely look slightly more pump but the fine lines and wrinkles are still there.

pH level:
pH 5

Fragrance?:
There is a light lavender fragrance but it really isn’t strong and scent disappearsย after application.ย  Smell-o-scale: 4/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Pro:
-long lasting hydrating
-innovative packaging that actually does something!

Con:
-some might find this sticky, but I don’t think it is sticky

Repurchase?:
Maybe

Overall thoughts:
I really do like this sleeping mask and would definitely consider repurchasing it if I ever run out.ย  Although it doesn’t do magic like the Amorepacific eye cream, this is a really good second that I can enjoy guilt free.ย  For $34 USD/ $44 CDN, I think this is a reasonable price and if you don’t use this everyday, this would last a good 3 to 4 months.ย  Overall I give this two thumbs up and the green light to purchase if you are in the market for an eye treatment product :).
