I’m from fig cleansing balm review I Cleansing balm that doesn’t disappoint

For the last installment of the fig line, we have the cleansing balm.  To be honest, it is pretty hard to mess up a cleansing oil or balm.  I mean I’ve come across a few that didn’t have enough removal power or ones that sting my eyes, but majority of the cleansing balms I’ve tried have been about the same.  Let’s see this I’m from fig cleansing balm has enough power to remove waterproof and long-lasting makeup!

What are figs good for skincare benefit wise?
Figs possess high polyphenols, omega fatty acids, and vitamins (A, B1, and B2) and are known for their significant antioxidant properties.  They also enhance skin’s hydration (preventing water loss), fading dark spots, improving skin tone, and calm skin’s redness.

Ingredients:
Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Polyethylene, Synthetic Wax, Ficus carica (fig) Fruit Extract, Peg-10 Isostearate, Peg-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Fragrance, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Curcuma longa (turmeric) Root Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Bark Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract

How to use:
Before using a cleanser, take an adequate amount of product into your palms and massage onto your face dry.  Once you’ve broken down all of your make up/ sunscreen, wet your hands and massage your face.  You will see the cleansing balm emulsify into a milky consistency and then rinse off.  Continue on with your cleanser and the rest of your routine.

Product packaging:
Unlike the rest of the fig line, this cleansing balm comes in a large plastic jar.  I wonder if the jar is plastic is because the product itself is oily and the majority of the people would get butterfingers and drop it.

It comes in your standard twist-off lid and a hidden spatula to scrape out the product.  Of course, there is also the lid that keeps everything airtight (kind of) and sanitary.

Texture:
The texture is just like any other cleansing balm, like ones from Banila co or Farmacy green clean cleansing balm.  It scrapes out like a sorbet and melts quickly once it is massaged.  There isn’t much to write home about since it is quite a standard texture if you’ve used a cleansing balm before.

Makeup removal effectiveness:
Let’s test out how effective it is to remove some of the most long-lasting and budge-proof makeup.  To the left to right, I have Etude house double lasting foundation, Clio waterproof pen liner, Pony effect stay fit matte lip and Heroine make mascara.  The Heroine make mascara especially is the hardest to remove and it usually takes me 2 or 3 tries to get it fully off my eyelashes.

The first two rounds of massaging, the liquid lip and foundation broke down easily while the liquid eyeliner and Heroine make mascara is staying put.  I mean I should be glad it is staying put but damn, that mascara is so hard to get off.  I even had to resort to getting the mascara remover when I was in Japan hahaha.

After what seems like an eternity, the eyeliner and mascara still stayed put.  I had to rub quite vigorously to get it to budge.  This really isn’t good for the eyes but I usually go in with a Q tip and an oil-based remover to remove the rest of my eye make up.

After emulsifying the cleansing oil with water and rinsing it off, most of the makeup did go away including the liquid liner and the majority of the mascara.  I knew the mascara would be hard to get off, hence why I put it to the test with this cleansing balm.  But I think if you use any regular mascara, even waterproof formulas, it should be okay.

Fragrance?:
There is a hint of a sweet floral and fig scent but it is super faint and does not linger when applied to the skin.  Smell-o-scale: 5/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Pro:
-good removal power
-doesn’t leave a film or residue on the skin
-doesn’t irritate the eyes

Con:
I have no complaints.

Repurchase?:
Maybe but most likely not since it isn’t super memorable.  It is a solid product but I’d like to try other cleansing balms.

Stars given out of 5:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall thoughts:
I think this is a good cleansing oil that has removal power without leaving any heaviness or film on the skin.  It doesn’t irritate my eyes or make it foggy for 30 minutes like some cleansing oils.  I really have no complaints about this cleansing oil and would recommend it if you were in the market for one.  Two thumbs and giving you the green light to pick it up!
