Aritaum x Sticky monster lab real ampoule CC pact Review & Demo

Aritaum real ampoule CC pact reviewCouple months ago, Aritaum did a collaboration with Sticky monster which easily caught my eye scrolling down Instagram. ย There was quite the selection in the collection but the only thing that caught my eye, naturally, was the cushion. ย This “cushion” is actually a CC and does not contain a sponge inside the compact but a solid cream type of “cushion”. ย This is a first for me and I’m super excited to review this for you guys so let’s get started! ย (โŠ™๊‡ดโŠ™)

Aritaum CC pact reviewProduct packaging:
Of course the first thing that catches my eyes were the cute cushion! ย I actually liked the yellow version of the case a little more, but I really wanted to try out the CC pact myself so I settled for this one. ย The print on the case is quite good quality and doesn’t seem to scratch off but I can see it could in the future if you keep it in your purse and let it be tossed around.

Aritaum sticky monster cushionThe cushion comes with a refill, so this cushion comes with two 15g of the CC pact. ย That is an amazing deal since it is only 18,000 won. ย If you are shopping around on their Korean sites, use a buying site like Avecko and get awesome deals (which is what I’m doing currently). Aritdaum’s Korean website is currently (Dec. 24, 2015) is having up to 50% off on selected items and this CC pact is included and on promotion for only 8,000 won! You just have to make sure you have enough time before the deals end since it takes about 2 days for Avecko to process it and then you’d have to pay them before they can order it for you.

IMG_9736The cushion comes in the standard compact which you can open with a push button. ย You can also just pop the CC pact out by pushing the back and it will easily pop out.

Aritaum cushionInside is a nice sized mirror which you can see your at least half if your face.

CC cushion

IMG_9740Of course there is the air puff which you use to apply your CC cream with. ย These have quickly become my go to product to use when applying my base make up because it is so easy, quick and all I have to use is just this magic sponge compared to the three brushes I usually use.

Aritaum real ampoule CC pactInside the compact, you pop open the CC pact lid and there is the marbled goodness.

IMG_9742The problem with marbleized products is the inconsistent. ย I know they are pretty to look at but sometimes the mixture isn’t always the same and gives you a slightly different effect/ color. Also when you go to rub it, the marbleized effect just fades. ย However the blended surface does go away when you use the air puff, so that is good news!

IMG_9743How to use:
Tap the air puff onto the CC pact and slightly do a rubbing motion to get some of the CC cream onto the puff. ย I have found that just stamping it onto the CC cream doesn’t really do it, so rubbing motion it is. ย Process to apply the CC cream onto your face and stamp away!

Color/ Pigmentation:
Like a lot of Korean cosmetic brands, Aritaum offers this CC cream in only two shades, so if you are any darker then NC25, you ran out of luck here. ย I bought the shade #1 and even this shade is too light for my NC25 skintone. ย It has a neutral tone to it, not too yellow and not too pink, right in the middle with no gray undertone as well. ย I would not wear this alone since it literally makes me look like this…
hqdefaultThis look is cool and all, but I don’t think this is the look I’m going for. ย I would recommend if you want to use this product, wear a thin layer of this under whatever you normally use as a BB cream/ foundation. ย CC creams (aka. Color corrector) is meant to just correct the color of your skin and kind of “prep” the skin for a flawless finish. ย In the demo I did, I did use it as a full face base make up and you will see what I’m talking about when i say I literally look like Mulan.

Aritaum real ampoule CC pact swatchTexture/ Finish:
The texture of this product is very odd. ย At first when you apply it to the skin, it gives off a nice dewy finish and gives the skin a nice healthy glow. ย If you look a little closer, it seems as though the CC cream’s formula, the powder is on the verge of wanting to separate. ย it is a very odd thing that has never really happened to me before. ย After it has dried down, I can see the CC cream starting to bunch around my dry areas, especially my nose. ย I do not like this formulation at all and would just stick to my tried and true A’pieu Air Fit BB cushion.

Coverage:
Coverage wise, this does not give me a lot of coverage. ย Then again, this is a CC cream we are talking about and isn’t realyl suppose to give you tons of coverage anyways. ย With one layer, it doesn’t do much in terms of covering the redness around my nose, cheeks and mouth around but it does slightly neutralize my skintone to be a little bit more even. ย With two layers, my face look like a pale ghost or Dracula’s daughter or something. ย Way to powdery white looking and definitely will not step out of the door this way. ย Even with two layers, it gives me a little more then a light coverage. ย Would not recommend anyone with troubled skin or someone that needs coverage to get this product.

Lasting power:
Again, I don’t have much problem with the lasting power on this since my skin is not very finicky like that. ย I did have a problem with the weird contradicting dewy powdery formula. ย This lasted me only 5 hours ย before I finally couldn’t take it anymore and took it all off. ย Not to say that it will only last for that long, but it just doesn’t look good at all to me. ย UGH.ย (แ—’แ—ฉแ—•)ีž

Fragrance?:
The CC pact has a slight soapy floral scent to it but is not overpowering at all. ย Smell-o-scale= 4/10 and the scent goes away after application. ย The air puff on the other hand reeks of burn plastic scent and I hope it will go away with a few washes. Yuck.

IMG_9767Demo time :). Always my most favourite part of reviewing.

IMG_9770Here is my bare face with my brows filled in, eye make up and concealer my dark undereye circles as well. ย My skin is not prepped with any moisturizers or primers.

My skin type profile:
-22 year old
-lives in an area with Oceanic climate (West coasts; cool & chilly winters, warm summer)
-very dry during fall and winter; dry during spring, normal in summer

Skin concerns:
-hydration for my dry skin
-flakey dead dry skin
-dark under eye circles from lack of sleep
-slight redness around cheek, nose and chinIMG_9771

IMG_9774A closer look to my skin. ย My skin is slightly freaking out right now for some reason and I’m getting little red spots everywhere. ย Also if you look closely, you can see sun spots which is only on my left side. ย Why do you ask? ย Because I always forget to wear sunscreen before I head out and that is always the side of my face which gets exposed to sunlight. ย Horrible I know but I will need to remember to carry some sunscreen around with me. ย WEAR SUNSCREEN PEOPLE! ย LOVE YOUR SKIN. ย Don’t be like me. ย LOL

IMG_9776Here’s what the CC cream looks like on the air puff. ย I did a gently rubbing motion when I got the CC cream onto the puff which is the way I have found is the easiest to get a good amount.

IMG_9777Gently tap the air puff onto your face or on your concerned areas. I like to spray a little bit of water onto my air puff beforehand so I can minimize the amount of product that is being soaked into it and get a bit more hydration onto my skin during application. ย Feel free to use any of your facial mists as well for extra skincare benefits!

IMG_9780Here’s what one layer looks like. ย So far it looks decent. ย Not much coverage but my skin is slightly brightened.

IMG_9781

IMG_9782

IMG_9783Here’s a picture of before.

IMG_9784

IMG_9786You can clearly see in this picture the effects the CC cream has on my skin. ย The right side (before) looks kind of dull while the left side (after) is clearly brightened. ย I would honestly stop here and just use my usually BB cream and call it a day, but for the purpose of this review, we shall take it all the way and see what happens.

IMG_9791Make sure to apply some onto your neck as well.

IMG_9792Going back in with the second layer.

IMG_9794The camera makes my skin look amazing, but in person the CC cream clearly is way too light for my skin.

IMG_9796Before….

IMG_9797After…

IMG_9798I’m not sure if you can see this, but if you look closely in my nose area, you can see the formula kind of bunching up weirdly and my skin has this weird white powdery look to it.

IMG_9801That is one of my pet peeves! ย When my BB/CC cream is not moisturizing enough and enhances my dry skin to the next level. ย ANNOYING MUCH!ย ( ๏ฝฐฬ€ฮต๏ฝฐฬ )

IMG_9799

IMG_9800Again, this does not give much coverage but just a base layer that brightens and whitens the skin.

IMG_9802This is both sides of my face done.

IMG_9803

IMG_9804You can see the color difference from my hand to my face. ย When I’m buying base make up, I try my best to get something as close to my real skintone as possible. ย Sometimes this is the downside to buying Korean cosmetics but it is a sacrifice I will have to make.

IMG_9805

IMG_9816

IMG_9823Here is what it looks like with a full face (eye make up, brows, bronzer, blush, highlighter, lipstick). ย Even with all the face make up done, it still doesn’t hide the fact the CC cream is way too light for my skin.

IMG_9820Flash photography:
I also wanted to test out the flash photography to see if the high SPF along with the super pale nature of this CC cream would make me look even more like my face is floating off. ย Surprisingly it isn’t too bad but then again, I think I’m doing this flash photography wrong. ย I believe I have to turn off all the lights to take the picture. ย Let me know in the comments down below and tell me if I’m suppose to turn off all the lights to do the test.ย (ใƒปโˆ€ใƒป)
IMG_9835Pro:
-brightens & whitens the skin nicely
-affordable price of 18,000 won
-comes with a refill

Con:
-weird dewy + powdery formula that separates throughout the day
-limited color selection (way too pale even for my pale skin!)

Repurchase?:
No.

Stars given out of 5:
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ

Overall thoughts:
I was really expecting to like this product but this goes with the field of buying products on the internet and not being able to test it out in person. ย With the cute packaging, I got suckered into getting this product. ย Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think this product is horrible but the weird dewy powdery texture doesn’t really work with my skin. ย I think I will try this again during the spring and summer time when my skin isn’t so dry. ย I didn’t appreciate the weird separation throughout the day, especially around the nose. ย Overall I don’t think this is a horrible product but it is not something I would repurchase for myself. ย Now I’m stuck with a refill as well. ย Poo. ย I’d love to see someone with oily skin try this out and tell me what they think :P.

What do you guys think about this product? ย Have you tried this? ย Did you get it for yourself? ย Let me know in the comments down below what you think. ย You know I love chatting up a storm with you guys.ย

Sorry this didn’t work out for you. I agree that the packaging is adorable! I love the compact!

I’m not tempted by the product, but I have to ask . . . what did you use for your mascara? Your lashes look amazing here!

    1. Christina

Haha don’t be tempted with this CC pact, not worth the time.

My eyelashes actually have some individual false lashes hidden in there :P. But I use L’oreal million lashes mascara on a daily basis. My holy grail used to be Maybelline’s one by one mascara but sadly they discontinued it. Sigh…

      1. Belle

No wonder they look so long in the corners! Thanks for sharing your secret. You did a good job making them look natural! I have used individual flares before but I think they are too heavy and tend to fall off. I’ll try individual lashes in the future to get this same effect ๐Ÿ™‚

        1. Christina

๐Ÿ˜› Fake it till you make it. I actually somehow plucked off two of my real lashes from rubbing my eyes T_T. So sad. I could never glue on a full strip for some reason so I always cut it up. That way it looks super natural and you can easily fool the human eye. Let me know how it is after you tried this method yourself!
