April is now coming to a end. Silly me, thinking I would be able to do 15 cushion reviews all in one month. I just couldn’t wait two months to get the new Pony Effect product reviews up, so I had to make the painful decision to just stick with the top five cushions you guys wanted to see a review on it. I promise I will continue the BB cushion reviews when I get back from vacation, that is if you guys still want to see cushion reviews. Ending off this month will be Peri Pera’s water moist cushion review which I picked up during my huge holiday haul back in November. Let’s get started with the review!! (/ ‘з’)/

When you first get this BB cushion, it comes in this super cute light pink and black box with Peri on the front. There is little to no English on the box other then the name of the product and the description which says, “A Peri’s water moist cushion provides looking luminous glow skin and keeps the skin moisturizing for all day.”
The compact itself is very basic with with the standard push button release and pop out refillable cushion. My camera and lighting washed out the top, but the top of the compact is a iridescent light pearlized pink with a bubble design and Peri’s face on it as well.
This air puff doesn’t look that much different then the rest, but the sponge applicator seems to be 0.5x thicker then usual. I found myself dabbing the sponge back into the cushion a lot more times then if I were to use other air puffs from Etude House or A’pieu. This is also after I sprayed it with some water like I always do. Hmm…
Usually on Korean cosmetic sites, there are tons of pictures with decently realistic colors to represent the shade colouring. Sadly for Peri Pera’s cushion, there was a tiny circle the size of my booger and I just had to do a lot of research to see other Korean blogger’s swatches to pick if I needed shade #1 or #2. From what I could see, shade #1 seemed to be rather darker then a usual #1 from other BB cushion shades.
I pretty much picked this shade blindly but luckily, it was a good shade match for my Mac NC25 skintone. It isn’t too light or two dark, it is just the right amount of yellow undertone for me. Not sure about shade #2, but if you are the same color or lighter then me, I’d stick with #1. Pigmentation wise, this BB cushion isn’t super pigmented and needs at least two layers to get a decent coverage.
After applying this to the face, you can immediately tell this is a super hydrating BB cushion. It gives a very radiant glow, even more so then the A’pieu Air fit BB cushion but it seems to me that this glow is on the oilier side rather then a natural looking glow. I suspect it is from the ingredients included which is shea butter and avocado oil. I’m glad to say even though this gives a slightly oily moisturizing finish, the BB cushion pigment doesn’t seem to separate after application which is a problem for a lot of other “hydrating” serum foundations out in the market. I do have to nit pick on one thing. Even though this is super hydrating, it did seem to catch onto my dry skin and slightly accentuate those parts. It isn’t that big of an issue but under bright fluorescent lights, I can totally see. So if you were using this for everyday use, it looks great however I would not recommend this for photography use since it doesn’t give a “flawless” look to the skin and with the high sun protection, it will give you a pale flashback.
This BB cushion gives a light to medium coverage, leaning more towards the light side. With one layer, it evens out most of my light redness but it didn’t cover the red spot on my cheek well. With two layers, it didn’t do much of a difference and it started to look a little cakey? It isn’t really cakey but more like the product seemed to have slightly balled up weirdly in certain areas. This cushion is definitely not for those of you who are looking for a cushion with coverage but for those who have little to no skin problems and want a very light and moisturizing BB cushion.
After 30 minutes or so, the BB cushion set a little and didn’t seem to be as glowy but it will transfer if you were to rub your face or accidently rub against your clothes. I personally don’t like to set my base make up since I like the dewy, moisturizing effect it has. Because this BB cushion contains avocado oil and shea butter, lasting power is not really there. I’d say max it gives 4 hours wear before having to reapply.
This cushion has a strong floral soapy scent, something I can see might irritate those who have a sensitive nose. After application, the scent fades and does not linger for long. Smell-o-scale= 7/10 for how strong the fragrance smells.
My skin type profile:
-lives in an area with Oceanic climate (West coasts; cool & chilly winters, warm summer)
-very dry during fall and winter; dry during spring, normal in summer
-hydration for my dry skin
-flakey dead dry skin
-dark under eye circles from lack of sleep
-slight redness around cheek, nose and chin
Things I look for in my base make up:
-dewy finish preferred
-evens out redness around nose, cheek and chin
-does not cling onto dry patches
Okay is it just me or my eye lids are getting more and more uneven . Oh my goodnesssss. Human faces aren’t symmetrical anyways, oh well haha. Like how one nostril is bigger then the other and as a kid, I thought I picked my nose too hard on one side so for a while, I religiously picked the other one in hopes of it being the same size. Silly silly girl….
Okay let’s start! I usually like to spray my air puff down with a bit of water so it doesn’t soak much product and also helps with not giving me a cakey look.
One side done (right side). As you can see, it definitely evened out my skintone a bit but definitely gave me a boost of hydration and a very noticeably dewy finish.
Two layers seem to help a little bit didn’t cover all of the redness. Off camera, I did try to apply a bit more but it started to look a little heavy.Okay both sides are done now. I even tried it under the eyes to see it can neutralize my dark circles. It did a decent job but I wouldn’t recommend using it under the eyes since it seeped into the fine lines.
Now with a full face of make up.
Eyeshadow: Pony effect stay put eye stick in Rose dress, Sonia Kashuk eye couture matte eyeshadow palette
Eyeliner: Etude house Play 101 pencil in 50 (Dark brown)
Mascara: L’oreal million lashes Waterproof
Brows: Pony effect sharpening brow definer in natural brown, Pony effect contoured brow color in Natural brown
BB cushion: Peri Pera Peri’s water cushion
Concealer:Bobbi Brown intensive skin serum concealer in Warm Ivory
Contour: Lancôme le duo contour & highlighter stick in Ivorie
Blush: A’pieu x Doraemon cushion blusher in PK01
The glowy, dewy finish seemed to have decreased after 30 minutes and after application of all the other products.
If you look closely, you can see the BB cushion kind of ball up in certain areas which is one of my pet peeves. I exfoliate religiously with peels and manual exfoliation so there should be no excuse for this to happen.
-super hydration finish; moisturizing with strong dewy finish
-color matched well
-does not have a long lasting formula
-does not come with refill
-not buildable; very little coverage
Stars given out of 5:
Even though this does not give me a lot of coverage at all, I do like this BB cushion based on it’s ingredients, the finish it gives me and how much it hydrates my skin. This would be one of those cushions that I will use when I have little to no problems with my skin, which is usually most of the time. I would not suggest this cushion to a lot of you guys out there looking for a least a buildable medium since this cushion does not give that a all. If you are looking for a super moisturizing, heavy dewy finished BB cushion, this can be one you would consider or you can stick with my all time favourite A’pieu Air fit which is only $5 and gives a buildable light to medium coverage. Overall I don’t think this is a bad cushion but definitely not a cushion that is versatile or for a lot of folks out there.
What do you guys think about this cushion? Is this something you’d want to try out for yourself or is it a pass in your book? What other super hydrating and dewy cushions are you guys using? Have you tried any other club clio cushions and would recommend it to me? Let me know in the comments down below and let’s chit chat! ( ＾Θ＾)
