Neogen real fresh cleansing stick green tea review I Did I get a lemon?

Neogen real fresh cleansing stick green tea reviewNeogen has been a brand I’ve watched afar for a while and have seen so many people love their products.  Their green tea cleansing stick is one of them and I get to try it finally after so many years of eyeing it!  This was a part of the Stylekorean try me program and it isn’t a sponsorship (just an FYI).  They do want our honest opinions and I will give you the tea (hehe pun intended).  I’m honestly not sure if I got a lemon or not since so many people stand by this product.  Let’s get into it.

Neogen real fresh cleansing stick green tea reviewProduct packaging:
Although I love the cleansing stick for its travel-friendly nature, this isn’t the most hygienic nor do I know how to keep it dry after using it.  I usually have my cleansers in the shower since that is where I usually cleanse my face.  I’d have to put this cleansing stick away with all the leftover bubbles and water which is kinda gross.

Neogen real fresh cleansing stick green tea reviewTo get the cleansing stick to come up, you just twist it to reveal the stick.  Luckily the stick does twist back down.  Some sticks don’t do that which is kinda shitty but this one will go down!

Neogen real fresh cleansing stick green tea reviewTexture/ Finish + results:
There are little bits of green tea (I presume) in the cleansing stick.  The cleansing stick foams up nicely into a thick lather and it will get foamier if you use one of those foam nets.  I personally just apply it straight to my face and it works just fine.

Neogen real fresh cleansing green tea stick reviewThere are two things I really don’t like about this cleansing stick and one of them is the fragrance but I’ll get to that down below.  One of the two things I hate is the cleanser getting into my mouth. This stuff is so bitter and gross and stays in my mouth for a good 2 minutes even after I rinse my mouth.  No, I’m not cleansing my face with my mouth open. The cleanser just drips down my face when I rinse it and it touches my lips. It’s game over after that.  OH, yea, and when the cleanser water gets into my nose when I rinse it off, it BURNS MY NOSTRILS.  WTF.  I’ve never had a cleanser do that in my LIFE!

My dry skin did feel a little tight after cleansing which isn’t a good sign.  I don’t have any pH paper with my at the moment, but I’m curious to see what the levels are.  I have a feeling it isn’t at the 5 mark.

Fragrance?:
At first sniff, this cleansing stick smells like old plastic and rancid nut oil that’s been sitting in the sun for far too long.  You do get a slight green tea smell but it just smells so artificial and fowl.  Smell-o-scale: 6/10 in terms of how strong the scent is and the scent does not go away when you are using it. Yuck…

Pro:
-convenient for traveling

Con:
-non-hygienic
-burns my nostril
-weird off smell

Repurchase?:
Absolutely not

Stars given out of 5:
⭐️⭐️

Overall thoughts:
I really don’t know if I got a lemon (aka. a bad one) since so many people love this cleansing stick.  I personally hate this so much.  It smells horrible and artificial, my skin feels a bit dry afterward and it is bitter when it hits my lips.  On top my that, it irritates my nostrils which has never happened to me with other cleansers.  I personally wouldn’t recommend it at all and try at your own risk.
