Needly sleeping lip mask & tint lip balm review

Needly sleeping lip mask tint lip balm reviewFor the last 6 months, I haven’t been able to get my hands on my daily used, holy grail Aritaum ginger sugar overnight lip mask. I found out recently that Amorepacific (the mother company of Aritaum) decided to phase out Aritaum as a brand with products into more of a destination for their other brands like Etude House and Laneige for consumers to shop at.ย  So, what did that mean for my (and many other people’s) holy grail lip mask?ย  It oddly got rebranded as a product under Etude House, with the same packaging and everything.ย  I haven’t gotten my hands on the “new” branded lip mask, but I really hope they didn’t change the formula.

With that being said though, finding a new holy grail to use on a daily basis has been a struggle.ย  No other overnight lip mask is thick enough for my super dry lips.ย  I was looking through Glowpick to see what are the new favorites these days loved by Korean consumers.ย  Along with another lip mask I ended up picking up, Needly seemed to be a brand people liked at the time of my research.ย  Ranking in the top 5, I knew I had to pick it up.ย  Even if it doesn’t turn it to be a good overnight lip mask, I still like to have a lot of lip balms around the house, in my bag, and in my car.ย  Who doesn’t love a good lip balm!ย  Let’s get into the review.

Product packaging:
To my surprise when I first got this sleeping lip mask, it is much smaller than I had imagined.ย  It comes in a standard-sized tube measuring 10.5 cm tall, however, the tube feels half empty.ย  I’d understand if this lip mask was super thick and you don’t need much of it, but it’s not.ย  The tube design is relatively standard, with a twist-off cap and a doe foot applicator.

Needly sleeping lip mask reviewTexture/ Finish:
Texture-wise though, I really like this texture!ย  It is a unique medium between a light texture but oily at the same time? Usually, lip-textured lip balms don’t absorb into my lips and make them dry within a short amount of time.ย  This Needly sleeping lip mask is a good daytime lip care product for me and doesn’t dehydrate my lips.

Needly sleeping lip mask reviewHere are my crusty, dusty lips before any type of hydration.ย  This is already at a decent stage.ย  Normally if I don’t have my ginger sugar lip mask, it flakes like crazy throughout the day.

Needly sleeping lip mask reviewAnd here are my lips after.ย  The glow kind of looks like I drooled all over my lips, but I mean the 2000’s are back in fashion right? LOL, I’m kidding.ย  I actually quite enjoy the glossy/ glowy look this lip mask gives. It is comfortable on the lips and protects it for hours after it gets fully absorbed.

Overall thoughts:
I think this is a good lip mask but I personally see it more as a daytime lip balm.ย  The texture is unique, it is nourishing and leaves my lips feeling comfortable and not flakey.ย  I think if you don’t like super thick lip masks/ lip treatments like my go-to Aritaum ginger sugar overnight lip mask, you’ll definitely like this.ย  This is much better than the Laneige overnight sleeping mask, although you get much less product with Needly’s sleeping lip mask.ย  Overall I give this 4/5 stars and would recommend it.

Needly tint lip balm review

Needly tint lip balm reviewProduct packaging:
Needly tint lip balm comes in a standard white lip balm tube where you pop off the lid and twist up the product.ย  Nothing much to write home about here.

Needly tint lip balm reviewTexture/ Finish:
I got this lip balm stick from Needly mostly because I didn’t see many reviews on it and if people already liked the Needly sleeping lip mask on Glowpick, their other lip products must be just as good. Wrongo…ย  I wouldn’t say it is the worst lip balm I’ve ever used, however, I don’t reach for this lip balm at all.ย  It has a heavy texture on the lips, a bit too waxy for my liking and it seems to just sit on top and never absorb.

Needly tint lip balm reviewColor-wise, the whole pH color change reminds me a lot of Dior lip glow.ย  They both have that same bright pink hue to them, but of course, the color might be slightly different depending on your pH.

Needly tint lip balm reviewHere’s a before (top lip) and after (bottom lip) for you to compare.ย  The pink hue isn’t as noticeable on camera, but it is quite apparent in person.ย  I personally don’t like that neon undertone to my lips, however, I might use just this tinted lip balm as a blush instead!

Needly tint lip balm reviewAnd here it is all over my lips.ย  Some of the pink catch onto some of my flakey dead skin, which isn’t all that appealing either:S.

Overall thoughts:
I give this lip balm a passing grade.ย  I’ll definitely try to use it up, one way or another, however, I don’t reach for it much when I do need something to protect my lips.ย  I really think they should transform this formula into a bigger stick and sell it as a tinted cheek balm instead.ย  Now that I would buy LOL.ย  Hey Needly marketing team, I have an idea for you!
