Oh my gosh!ย I can’t believe the last time I did a color contact review was back in December :O. Now summertime is just around the corner.ย Is this 2020 2.0 or what?? Ever wonder what color contact lenses your favorite Kpop idols wear? Here are my natural eyes.ย As you can see, they are very dark brown, so I need very vibrant color contacts to show up.ย I have tried other color contact brands but still, none compares to my beloved Olens <3.
These two versions, in particular, are the only two daily color contacts that are available in the BTS collaboration.ย Each box comes with 30 pieces, so that would be 15 pairs but if you are like me with two different degrees on each eye, you will have to get two boxes.
First up is the BTS x MTPR idol myself gray which has a purpleish mauve outer ring, light grey lines and a mix of teal and blue for the inner ring.ย The graphics look like strokes being drawn inwards, making them look quite realistic.
On the eyes, they look quite nice but there is a little bit of unnaturalness since it doesn’t blend as well in the center.ย I really love the mauve outer ring and it really softens up my whole look.
Far away, it looks really pretty but up close, you can definitely see that it isn’t your natural eyes.ย But I still think it is really pretty and doesn’t give me that protruding alien/ reptile eye look, so I’ll still be wearing them from time to time :).
Next up is Destiny brown.ย This one at first glance looks similar to Russian velvet in brown but if you look up close, there are hints of a peachy pink running through the sides!ย On the outer ring, it isn’t that noticeable but that is a very interesting touch.
On the eyes, it truly looks like the Russian velvet in Brown but the strokes/ graphics are a lot softer.ย The diameter is much larger and actually covers my whole iris, making the whole look much more natural as well.
Out of the two, this is definitely my favorite one.ย The wearability is just as comfortable as Olens.ย I thought MTPR might have been a sub-brand of Olens, but they said it is a completely different brand. They’re just selling it on their website until it runs out.ย This line is limited edition so if you see anything you like, you’re gonna have to jump on it!
Overall I’m just as impressed with this brand as I am with Olens.ย Again, these are daily contacts, meaning you can wear these one time and throw them away.ย This compared to monthly lenses, is usually a little moister and because they are disposable, one-time wear type of lens. I personally like daily for those days where I want to have a different eye color but can’t see myself wearing that color on a daily basis for a whole month.
