Missha Rolling Heartball blusher Review + Swatches + Demo

Missha rolling heart ball blusher reviewGuerlain metorites is something a lot of us females have been gawking at since the packaging and the whole multi-colored powder beads just catch all our attention. ย So when Missha came out with a heart shaped blusher with multi-colored powder “beads”, I knew I had to get my hands on it. ย I did really want the lavender version, but instead I picked up the most basic shade… pink LOL. ย I don’t know why but that’s how it ended up for me. ย I’ve been having a lot of problems with Korean blusher since they never seem to be pigmented enough for my liking. ย Let’s see how this one preforms!! Let’s go~~

Korean blush trendProduct packaging:
Packaging for this heart blusher reminiscesย the Guerlain meteorites hard cardboard jar but of course, this one from Missha is a lot smaller. ย Depending on whichever shade you pick, that will dictate what colors would show on the jar. ย The top of the lid has the product name, while the bottom has the usual information you’d fine.

Korean blush make up missha reviewInside, you’ll find a little fluffy puff which, to be honest, I never use these things since they are too big for my cheeks.

Missha heart blusher reviewUnfortunately for me, some of the beads got crushed in the mail, so all the hearts are covered in pink powder. ย Hence why I can’t really differentiate which shades are which.

MIssha heart blush reviewColor/ Pigmentation:
ย
I’m sorry guys, I really thought there were only three shades since when I took the pictures, I could really only see three shades since they were covered in pink powder from a couple being crushed. ย There are actually four shades in the jar so please refer to the picture down below.

Missha rolling heart ball blusher in pink meringues swatchesFrom the promo picture, there should be a bright strawberry pink, which in person looks more of a more red strawberry rather then a pink strawberry. ย There is also a bubble gum, lavender-ish pink which I couldn’t seem to find at the time of swatching these. ย As for the lighter two shades, there is suppose to be a light baby pink and also a white shimmery shades. ย For me, I could only find a light coral shade, which could be the result of the other ones being crushed and mixed. ย Swatched separately, all of the shades are super pigmented and effortless when it comes to showing up on the skin.

Missha heart blush swatchMixed together with a brush, this is what the color looks like. ย It gives the skin a nice natural-looking flush, a flush you’d get if you were to stay out in the cold for a long period of time. ย Of course, you wouldn’t be applying this much blush. ย This swatch is for demonstration purposes only. ย The real swatch will be down below, which I show you guys on my face.

MIssha blusher swatchIf you look closely, this blush gives the skin a really nice glow with the super fine shimmer that it leaves the skin. ย This shade that I got (#2 pink meringue) really reminds me of Nars orgasm don’t you think? ย It’s got the same pinky coral element to it with a hint of golden shimmers.

Texture/ Finish:
On the cheeks, this blush gives the skin a nice natural-looking flush and also a subtle glow. ย You almost don’t have to use a highlighter if you use this blush! ย To my surprise, this blush isn’t chalky or powdery in any way. ย It is pigmented enough for it to look natural on the cheeks and doesn’t dry out my skin. ย I’m really impressed.

Lasting power:
For me, lasting power is not an issue over my unset BB cushion which I usually wear a dewy finished one.ย  The average lasting power is about 6 hours before fading, 8 hours max since I don’t like to wear my makeup for more than 8-10 hours since it starts to feel uncomfortable for me. ย Not that it feels heavy, I just like to be bare-skinned most of the time.

Fragrance?:
This blusher has the same smell as the Guerlain’s, that heavy baby powder scent that I do not find appealing at all. It smells like a floral, powdery old lady..BLAH! ย Luckily, the scent disappearsย after application so I can live with it. ย Smell-o-scale: 7.5/10 in terms of the strength of the scent.

MIssha blush reviewCrushed and sad…

Korean blush reviewI personally like to use a brush to apply my powder blushes since I get better control of where I want to place it. ย This brush I’m using is one from Sonia Kashuk, one of my most favourite brushes of all times.

Although I didn’t put that much, well at least that is what it looks in photo, it looks a lot brighter in person. ย This is usually the amount I like to put since I can easily look over done or I have a fever, which isn’t a look I’m going for.

Before (left) and after (right)

korean blush placementAnd here is my whole face done :). ย Now it looks like it is disappearing. ย I promise you, it is there!

Pro:
-pigmented
-silky finish
-nice subtle glow

Con:
-easy to break/ messy

Repurchase?:
I might actually! So yes, I will if I ever finish this one.

Overall thoughts:
I’ve been complaining about the lack of good, pigmented blushes in the K-beauty market and now I can say, this product has broken the curse. ย This might be one of the only powder blushes from the K-beauty world that I can say with confidence that can easily compare with blushes in the Western market. ย To be honest, I was sucked in by the cute heart-shaped beads, but I am happy that I did get sucked in because this is really a good blusher. ย If you guys are in the market for a pigmented and silky blusher, I’d highly recommend you guys check this one out from Missha. Two thumbs up.

Great review! I have a nagging suspicion your blush was #2 Peach Beach though..
