Makeon Princess gel pencil eyeliner set (Season 1-3) Review and swatch

Makeon princess gel pencil eyeliner set reviewI’ve been preaching for the longest time that Korean cosmetic companies make THE best eyeliners and liners in general. ย Not sure if they all use the same formula or something, but usually the liners across the pond have a gel formula which offers a long lasting effect, high pigmentation and affordable prices. ย Roseroseshop was holding another event where they hand picked bloggers to review couple products from Tosowoong and I was lucky enough to be invited into this event. ย Funny thing is, I already love the Makeon eyeliner sets and the only one left from the collection was the one that they were sending out, season 3 (the gold one). ย Let’s get started with the review!ย ใƒฝ(ใ€ƒ๏ฝฅฯ‰๏ฝฅ)๏พ‰

IMG_0712
There are three sets in total and each set has a different theme. ย makeon liner 2

Season 1 would be your basic shades such as a black, dark brown, burgundy, gold and a champagne shade to highlight with. ย Those of you who are starting out or just wants a set with all your basic shades, this one would be for you.

Makeon linerSeason 2 contains more fun shades but still very wearable. ย They are different enough from season 1 that I’d say you’d want to get both since this set would be great during the summer time. ย I can’t decide which sets out of the two I like better, so I personally just bought both HAHA.ย (*โ€ขฬ€แด—โ€ขฬ*)ูˆ ฬ‘ฬ‘

makeon liner 3Season 3 made me hesitate a little because there are some bold shades I wouldn’t be able to wear on a daily basis. ย I think this set is a little more advanced compared to the first two sets and this one would be great for the Summer time as well with the bronze and gold shades provided in this set. ย I’d even use these eyeliners, blend it out as shadows and just leave it as is for an easy, breezy summer look.ย

Ingredients:
Season 1:ย
Cyclomethicone, Ceresin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Sorbitan Olivate, Microcrystalline Wax, Beeswax, Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides, Euphoribia Cerifera (Canedillia) Wax (may contain), CI 77491, CI 15850 Ultramarines, Titanium Dioxide, Mica Bismuth Oxychlorid, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate

Season 2:ย Cyclomethicone, Ceresin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Sorbitan Olivate, Microcrystalline Wax, Beeswax, Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides, Euphoribia Cerifera (Canedillia) Wax (may contain), CI77491, CI 77492, CI 15850, Ultramarines, Titanium Dioxides, Mica, Bismuth Oxychlorid, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate

Season 3:ย Cyclomethicone, Ceresin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Sorbitan Olivate, Microcrystalline Wax, Beeswax, Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides, Euphoribia Cerifera (Canedillia) Wax (may contain), CI77491, CI 77492, CI 15850, Ultramarines, Titanium Dioxides, Mica, Bismuth Oxychlorid, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate

IMG_0718Product packaging:
All of the Makeon eyeliner sets come in these super adorable, eye catching tin cases with three different princesses on the front. ย I’m not a super girly, pink loving type of gal but these just are so darn CUTE! ย They are tugging on my heart strings.ย (โ™ฅฯ‰โ™ฅ*)

IMG_0719On the back of each tin case indicates which set it is and the names of each eyeliner in order.

IMG_0722Of course, inside is the eyeliners itself, securely sitting in their slots.
IMG_0723 IMG_0725 IMG_0726Cute tin case aside, Tosowoong did a great job getting the plasticย pencil to be the exact same color as the liner itself. ย This is great for if you are going to store this in your collection, it would be easy to find it without having to squint and try to read the tiny print.
IMG_0728 IMG_0729 IMG_0730Of course if I am to travel with these eyeliners, I wouldn’t keep these inside the tin case. ย I would take them out of the holders, get rid of the holders and just use the tin case itself with the eyeliners inside rolling around. ย I could even use the tint case as a make up box and put my other cosmetic items in it if it fits.season1_15One con about this product is that it is not a twist up pencil. ย You do have to sharpen it and no they do not provide you with a sharpener at the end of the pencil either. ย Poop, I know but the eyeliner itself is awesome so I’ll over look it.

How to use:
You can use these as eyeliners (obviously) on the lids or on the waterline. ย You can also use these as a swipe of color by blending out the eyeliner onto your eye lids. ย Instead of tugging at my eye lid, trying to blend out the gel liner (which by the way sets super fast), I’d apply some of the liner to my finger tips and use the warmth of my fingers to just sweep the color onto my lids.

Color/ Pigmentation:
Tosowoong makes a lot of shades, and buying the sets gives you a chance to try most of the shades they have to offer. ย Season 1 has the basics, season 2 has a good mix of basics and gemstone shades and season 3 contains tons of bronze and gold shades which is good for the Summer time.

IMG_0739These glide onto the skin with no effort at all and gives you the highest pigmentation out there. I’ve tried a lot of eyeliners in my life time, ones from Urban decay, the drugstore, Marc Jacobs but they didn’t work that great at all. ย Next time you are in the department store or in Sephora, squint and look at where the eyeliners are manufactured. ย Sometimes there are eyeliners from high end brands that are actually made in Korea. ย If so, don’t buy it and just buy ones from actual Korean brands. ย I promise you they will be more affordable, comes in varieties of fun shades and have long lasting abilities.
IMG_0744Here are some more pictures of the eyeliners since my camera can’t take the full shot without only focusing in the middle, making everything else blurry.

Texture/ Finish:
With no effort at all, these glide onto the skin with no tugging. ย The gel formula gives the liners a long lasting effect and it doesn’t budge on my eye lids. ย On the waterline, it does slightly transfer a little bit but not enough for me to want to deem this product bad. ย Each set comes with a mixture of finishes such as shimmery, sheen, and glittery. ย Sadly none of them are matte, which I’d love to see in the future from them.

Lasting power:
These eyeliner gives me a good 6-8 hours of wear before slightly fading away. ย It barely smudges! ย I’ve swatched it on the back of my arm before and rubbed the crap out of it and nothing smudge! ย It’s pretty crazy. ย I’ve also spritz water on it and rubbed the crap out of it as well and it stayed put. ย Super impressed! ย If you want to use this smudge out, you have less then 30 seconds of play time before it completely sets so work fast!

Overall thoughts:
In the K-Beauty world, $33 is slightly expensive in my opinion but if you really think about it, that is the price of one or two Urban decay eyeliners ($25 each). ย For $33 you get a whole set with five shades, a formula that is AWESOME, water resistant, super pigmented and a cute case too. ย These and Etude House Play 101 liners are the two go to liners for me and nothing can replace these in my collection, not even high end liners. ย Overall I give these a holy grail status and definitely something you guys should look into getting for yourself.

Have you guys tried these liners before? ย What are your thoughts on these liners and which set would you pick for yourself? ย Let me know in the comments down below, I’d love to hear what you think!
