Laneige Influenster campaign unboxing

Laneige influensterYou have noooo idea how excited I was when I was half awake, with my eyes still squinty, waking up from my slumber and seeing the Influenster email saying “Check your mail box! ย You are in for the Laneige campaign!” ย  I don’t know how I got so lucky this time since I’m usually never picked for any campaign, but this time it is like they know me! ย As for as I know, I believe this Laneige campaign was just for Canadians since they wanted to promote Laneige hitting Sephora stores all around Canada and USA. Let’s get started with the post, I’ll also explain what Influenster is for those that are confused as to what it is. ย Let’s gooo~
(๏พ‰^โˆ‡^)๏พ‰๏พŸ

What is influenster?
Influenster is a website where companies contact to either advertise through word of mouth or social media by giving their members products to test and review.

Is it a scam? ย How much do I have to pay?
This website is definitely not a scam nor have a ever paid a dime for anything that has been sent to me. ย I believe this is the second time I have gotten something from influenster to review and never have I ever sent money to them nor have they sent me any money for me to say anything positive for the products they have sent me. ย They want consumer’s real opinions on the product for either market research or for more exposure through social medias from their select demographic audience.

Do I have to be a famous blogger or Youtuber to join and get these products/ boxes? ย How do you get picked?
No you do not have to be famous on the web to get stuff. ย I’m not a big blogger or anything, but I got picked through the companies target demographic. ย Companies that send influenster products to send out wants a specific type of consumer. ย Sometimes they want mother’s with babies and a family, sometimes they want men, sometimes they want just Canadians, you never know what they are looking for. ย If you get picked, you get picked. ย You can’t choose what campaign you want to be in sadly. ย When you get picked, they send you an email asking if you would like to be a part of the campaign and you get to choose if you want to do it or not.

Some past campaigns:
influenster collageSome past campaigns that came out in the last two weeks were pretty amazing. ย Brands including YSL (Pur couture lipsticks, Blur perfector), Urban Decay smoked palette,ย Kerastase, Keruig machines and voxboxes which contain and medley of products.

IMG_8239This is what the box looks like this time around. ย I was under the impression I was getting the whole line to try, but we got one out of the four products to try and review. ย It came with either their foam cleanser, serum, cream gel or their famous sleeping pack.

IMG_8240So exciting to get this in the mail box!!ย (/^โ–ฝ^)/IMG_8242

IMG_8243Inside it came with a little note that thanks us for accepting to review/ try out the product for the company and a description of each product.

IMG_8244I wish I got the cleaner since I have tried everything else. ย I’m actually using the water bank serum right now :D. ย I might pick up the foaming cleanser during the November Sephora sale. ย I’m also happy to report the retail price in sephora for Laneige products are the same as the retail price in Korea. ย I’ve had mixed feelings of Korean brands being carried by Sephora since they tend to jack up the price about 50%. ย Take Too cool for school egg mousse pack retailing in Sephora for $24, while in Korea it retails for 11 Won (a little less then $11 USD). ย Let me know in the comments down below if you guys want me to do a post on where to buy Korean cosmetics online for close to their real retail price. ย Ridiculous how much they mark it up in Sephora :S, especially Tony Moly.IMG_8245I got the water bank gel cream which I have tried myself. Sadly this is not moisturizing enough for me during the winter time since my skin gets extra dry :(. ย I could only use this during the summer time sadly, even if I layer serums and essences beforehand.

“The six hydrating ionized mineralsโ€”zinc, potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, and manganeseโ€”in hydro ionized mineral water replenish and lock in moisture while winter cypress polysaccharide extract soothes irritated skin. Cooling and ultra-light, its silky texture makes it the perfect choice for warm climates and oily skin, absorbing instantly and delivering 24-hour essential hydration, protection, and revitalization.”

IMG_8248Good thing the packaging has complete English, even the ingredients list :).

IMG_8249The packaging comes in an elegant glass jar and also comes with a spatula for sanitary reasons. ย Hopefully you guys get in the habit of using a spatula since it can help keep your skincare and make up products more sanitary. ย But honestly, if I know I’m going to use a cream on a daily, I just dig it out with my fingers. ย Moment of truth right thereย ( โ—ž๏ฝฅเฑช๏ฝฅ).

IMG_8251

IMG_8252The cream also comes sealed on the inside for extra protection.

IMG_8253The actual cream gel is exactly what the name says. ย It is a light weight gel formula which I can see it working best with oily to combination skin types.

IMG_8255

IMG_8256The gel cream absorbs quickly into the skin, does not leave a sticky residue and has a slight floral, soapy scent. ย Honestly it is a pretty standard moisturizer, not much to say really. ย My feelings on the gel cream version is neutral since it isn’t really built for my skin type, but their regular cream version which is a lot thicker and a lot more creamy works great for my skin.

I have mixed feelings about this cream myself. I prefer Iopes Essential Moisture Relief Cream. I don’t use that alone either though but it’s nice for summer. My favourite moisture cream is ElishaCoy Moist Up Super Hyalurone Cream also for summer but it has gotten more than twice as expensive on Ebay over just a year! ๐Ÿ˜‰ So prices on Korean Beauty are really increasing drastically at least some brands ๐Ÿ˜‰
