A’pieu x Rilakkuma Honey & milk lip oil + serum Review

a'pieu honey and milk lip oil and serum reviewA’pieu has been a long time favourite brand of mine, so I’m always pay attention to their new releases. ย Back in July, they came out with their first Rilakkuma set, I wasn’t really digging any of the products they offered but the second time around with the second biggest release, they came out with a whole line of honey and milk lip products. ย Some of the products from the honey and milk line was a repackage, some were new and from my past experience with the honey and milk lip sleeping mask, I knew I had to try more. ย So along with my December picks from Jolse, I picked these two honey and milk products, their lip oil and the lip serum. ย Now that we got the intro covered, let’s get along with the review! ย This one will be a double review since there is no sense in doing two short reviews, am I right? ย Let’s go~~

Unfortunately I can’t seem to find the ingredients list for you guys :'(.

How to use:
You can either use this straight on your lips without any preparation, or you can use some sort of lip scrub beforehand to get rid of any dead skin. ย Just apply enough to moisturize your lips and you are good to go.

A'pieu honey and milk serumProduct packaging:
The lip serum comes in a chubby tube that comes with a pump. ย Label wise, it is just a sticker stuck onto the tube with Rilakumma gracing the front of the tube. ย The lid that pops ono top is secure enough for it to not pop off by itself and I wouldn’t be too worried about leaving it in my bag to keep with me on the go. ย Since it is quite chubby, I’m not too sure if I’d want to carry it around with me.

A'pieu honey and milk serumThe pump is okay in terms of being about to control the amount that squirts out but even a full squirt is way too much for the lips. ย I personally only use about half a squirt for my lips and I find it working just fine.

A'pieu honey and milk serumTexture/ Finish:
I personally have never tried a lip serum before, only lip balms and lip oils and such. ย So I didn’t have any expectations going into it nor did I think it would really do much for my dry lips. ย To my surprise, this lip serum works almost instantly.

A'pieu honey and milk serum

A'pieu honey and milk serum review

A'pieu honey and milk serumย My lips would be quite chapped but instantly after applying this to my lips, it gets soft immediately and makes my lips moisturized, supple and plumped looking. ย My lips also look slightly pink? ย Like the natural color of my lips is enhanced, not that the serum has any colour but because it looks and feels more hydrated, my lips look more even.

After it has absorbed into my lips, which takes only 30 seconds or so, my lips are softer but if you want the hydration to last, you’ll have to layer it with some lip balm or oil of some sort. ย I personally wouldn’t use this to replace my lip balms but this would be a great added step before a balm or even a instant hydration right before I apply my lip color since it doesn’t leave any residue on my lips.

Lasting power:
Like I mentioned up above, this lip serum, although it does hydrate my lips,ย it will not leave the lips super hydrated for a long period of time so you’ll have to layer it one way or another. ย It only leaves my lips moisturized for about 30 minutes max and afterwards, I’m itching for a lip balm. ย So this is definitely a product you’ll have to layer with.

Fragrance?:
Like the name says, this product has a sweet milk and slightly honey scent. ย The scent is relatively strong so if you are fragrance sensitive, you have been warned. ย Smell-o-scale: 6/10 in terms of the strength of the fragrance.

Pro:
-instantly softens the lips
-proven to be effective
-super affordable (50% off right now on A’pieu, have to use a buying service)

Con:
-have to use some sort of product on top

Repurchase?:
Most likely if they do add it to the permanent line.

Overall thoughts:
To my surprise, I’m really enjoying this product. ย I never tried a lip serum but if this is what a lip serum truly does, then I’m obsessed. ย Since I usually rock bare skin on a daily basis (due to work restrictions), I’m always looking to try new lip balms and such since there isn’t much I can do with the rest of my face. ย This lip serum does truly does it’s job, on top of that being super affordable. ย I’m super impressed with this product and it could have been a holy grail product but since it can’t preform on it’s own, it lost one star. ย Super close, but not there. ย I highly recommend this product for those who are looking to try a lip serum and it is 50% off right now on A’pieu so now is the time to get it if you are buying some stuff through a buying service.

Limited edition/ Permanent?:
Again, limited edition for now but they may make it permanent down the road.

Description of product:
“If you prefer an oil-based product, this lip oil would be a better alternative for you to moisturize your lips!”

Price:
5,000 won

Ingredients:
Again, I can’t seem to find the ingredients list :S.

How to use:
You can either use the lip serum underneath it or just use it on your bare lips. ย It instantly gives the lips a nice glow and also softens them.

Product packaging:
The tube is almost the same size as the lip serum, only about 1.5 cm shorter. ย The bottle itself is on the chubby side but you get a decent amount of product. ย The only concern I have is the damn doe foot applicator. ย Excuse me, who in their right thought it would be a good idea to have the doe foot applicator the size of my thumb. ย Do you apply lip balm with your thumb? ย Is that your finger of choice?!? SERIOUSLY? ย I was so surprised to see the applicator to be so fat! ย Yes it does get the job done real fast but you’d have to be super careful with the edges of your lips. ย You know what the worst thing is? ย Their lip tints have the same packaging, same thumb applicator. ย So if you don’t want your lips to look you just had a vampire feasting, I’d suggest you either use a brush or just stay away from that lip tint.
Look at that applicator to lip ratio. ย WHAT THE HELL!

Texture/ Finish:
When I think of a lip oil, I think of something that is slick and just feels greasy on the lips. ย To my surprise, this lip oil is on the thicker side, isn’t slick at all and has great lasting power. ย Many times I applied this right before I went to bed and woke up to find the lip oil still on my lips. ย The thickness isn’t as thick as something like Artiaum’s ginger sugar overnight lip mask (which I adore) but not as light as a lip balm. ย It is somewhere in the middle. ย When you first apply it, it kind of feels like it would be thick but after the warmth of your lips hits it, it kind of melts and settles nicely. ย It honestly kind of feels like honey on the lips, without the super sticky part.

A'pieu honey and milk lip oilI personally don’t enjoy lip gloss all over the lips since I don’t like the whole drooling look. ย This lip oil has that comfortable medium I enjoy, kind of glossy but not too glossy.

Lasting power:
Like I mentioned up above, this lip oil lasted throughout me sleeping at night, which is aboutย 8+ hours. ย Do keep in mind I do toss around so with that in mind, it still lasted up to the point of me waking up and still feeling it on my lips. ย That is pretty impressive if you ask me.

Fragrance?:
This has the same milk and honey scent, along with the rest of the line. ย The scent isn’t too strong in this one and it does fade away after application. ย Smell-o-scale: 5/10 in terms of the strength of the scent.

Pro:
-super moisturizing
-melts right into the lips
-great adherence
-long lasting hydration effects

Con:
-thumb applicator… just why

Repurchase?:
Most likely if they do make it into a permanent product.

Overall thoughts:
Again, this product could have easily been a holy grail if it wasn’t for the darn applicator. ย I really do hope that they make this a permanentย product since it truly is a great lip product. ย It has long lasting hydration effects, stays on the lips for a ridiculously long time and feels comfortable on the lips. ย On top of that, it is only $5!! ย You really can’t beat it. ย Overall, great product, just the applicator needs a make over.

So what do you guys think about these lip products? ย Have you tried it yourself? ย Other then A’pieu, what are some other lip balms, oils, serums you guys are enjoying? ย Let me know in the comments down below and tell me what you think!
